Free Village Bus
A frequent, rapid bus runs every 10 minutes most of the day and every 20 minutes during off-hours. Bus service will start at 6 am and run till midnight, later on weekends. It takes six minutes to downtown Hayward and BART and two minutes to Cal State University. Every Quarry Village resident gets a monthly pass paid for by rents and condo fees. The Village Bus will be a high-tech hybrid bus, with electric motors and regenerative braking, so that energy used going uphill can be recovered going downhill. It will have wide doors and no-step entry using raised sidewalks for very fast boarding. The Village Bus will also have signal preference for cutting through red lights at intersections, and "proof of purchase" fare collection, again speeding up service. It will go to the center of the campus at CSUEB to deliver people to campus buildings faster than cars do now. With signal preemption, making more green lights, and drop off directly in front of the BART entrance, the Village Bus will get you on the BART train faster than driving and parking at BART.

Taxis and Taxi Vouchers
Every household in Quarry Village gets four taxi-vouchers a month good for free trips in the local area. The vouchers can be used for any type of local trip you want, such as a medical or dental appointment, a late-hour ride home when the Village Bus is not running, or visiting family and friends located too far from transit.
